Crystal Series

This series was started in February 2004, inspired by a simple quartz crystal. Moving away from the surface of solid 3-dimensional objects, I was fascinated by the ability to see into and through the crystal. With its perfect geometry, this essentially colourless object is able to refract and reflect light into patterns of pure colour.

All paintings are full-sheet 22"x30" watercolour unless otherwise noted.
